TASHAS AL BATEEN, ABU DHABI

During the holy month of Ramadan, I got an invite together with few Influencers for an Iftar in the newly opened Tashas. Located in Marsa, Al Bateen, Abu Dhabi. A South African boutique lifestyle café brand. Absolutely fell in love with Tashas exterior design, the Arabian touch with a little bit of Greek Mediterranean vibes to it made it so comfy and inviting.

Representing the first in a series of expansion in the region, each of the Tashas restaurants challenges conventional ideas about daytime eating, appeasing the need for establishments in the UAE capital that seamlessly blend traditional coffee shops and fine dining to pioneer a new kind of elevated eating experience.

Every Tashas is a little bit different and a little bit the same. Simple sophistication influences all elements, showcasing an incredible appreciation for attention to detail and quality. Each of the 14 locations; 13 in South Africa and one in Dubai, has a different “inspiration” which influences the design of the store as well as the “Inspired By” Menu. There is also the Tashas “Classic” menu offered at every location that offers the signature dishes that Tashas is known for including the Texas Salad, the Parmesan Couscous Chicken and Savva’s Chicken Pasta.

The design of the 183-seat, 266 square-foot Abu Dhabi store and the menu for Tashas Al Bateen are inspired by the Mediterranean – an area of the world where Natasha has spent much time. Casual seating integrates harmoniously with natural textures and palettes, showcasing a commitment to green practices amongst styled interiors and ambient lighting throughout. The carefully curated menu boasts some amazing new recipes designed solely for the Abu Dhabi clientele with tapas to share such as Manchego Cheese with Caramelized Almonds and Quince, Spinach and Feta Hummus and mains including Seafood Paella and Beef Fillet with Patatas Bravas.

Natasha is passionate about the UAE and considers it her second home. She has her eye on expanding further into the region in a considerable way, bringing the newly launched Flamingo Room by Tashas, a privé dining concept that takes Tashas to a whole new level later this year. “The Middle East is full of amazing opportunities and we look forward to finding perfect locations for new Tashas. As is our way, no two locations will be the same, offering our customers a different but distinctive experience in each,” says Natasha, known for her anti-franchise approach to franchising.

We found the perfect spot in Tashas where natural lights and marble table is, isn't it perfect for that perfect #PaulDineInStyle shot.

Freshen up with these tasty Mojitos!

And time for some Starters, Octopus carpaccio & Fennel, Citrus, Avocado and Pistachio Salad which I absolutely love, and look at that Texas Salad - corn tossed with feta, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, basil leaves, rocket in a light basil pesto lemon dressing and chicken (optional)

This tender juicy beef fillet & patatas bravas is my main course with this special sauce and Chicken Vol-Au-Vent with a herb salad, perfect for sharing!

For the finalé, well, you all know me, I have a very sweet tooth and picking desserts is my fave part of every meal. Like what I had last time during the Ramadan Iftar, I am having again the Doxa's Chocolate Slice and Bread & Butter Pudding is so tasty as well!

From the magnificent exterior and interior of Tashas, sumptuous cuisine and amazing ambience, the hospitality and energy of the crew are simply impeccable! Can't wait to visit again Tashas, not only the food but the kindness and sweet attitude of the staffs.
