Vacation Mode: On! Finally got the time to take a holiday leave from work and started it off at Shangri-La Hotel in the UAE's capital, Abu Dhabi. Absolutely a magical escape to an Arabian oasis, magnificent views enthrall as we entered. The grand golden-white main building reflects in the swimming pool by the entrance. Our senses are bewitched by the hotel's impressive architecture, with its fine Arabic décor, full of warm tones and organic textures.
The luxurious vibes, impeccable details of the interiors, gorgeous view from the balcony and warm welcome of the staff, what more can you ask for?
As we made our way around the large hotel complex, little did I know that the hotel was actually connected by a winding waterway featuring Arabic traditional boats, known as abras. It was a laid back afternoon, while the abra slowly meanders throughout the verdant garden scenery.

Let's continue the fine dining journey at P&C by Sergi Arola, where the flavor of Spain mixed with the aura of Abu Dhabi. Chef Arola has taken the concept of tapas and made it his own to create an exquisite dining and lounging destination where guests can taste his new approaches to traditional paella, patatas bravas, seafood delicacies and sweet delights while enjoying stunning views in an exquisite atmosphere.
The many gin infusions created by the mixologists at the p&c Bar, which is situated atop p&c by Sergi Arola, are intrinsic to the dining experience at the restaurant. The menu offers spicy, sweet and dry flavors and more.
What a magnificent view while sipping Sauvignon Blanc chardonnay after having a very sumptuous dinner!
The water is calling me! Wearing my Frescobol Carioca swim shorts took a dip at this gorgeous infinity pool and what can I say? Absolutely stunning magnificent view!

The Table by Golden Circle is the Shangri-La’s first loyalty program, and aims to reward those who frequently visit Shangri-La, and Traders hotels all over the world. The Table’s free membership also gives guests access to a 25% discount on food and beverages.
Members of the loyalty program can gain award points by staying at a hotel or resort, using the spa facilities, having a meal, or even a drink. These points can then be redeemed for hotel stays, dining or spa experiences at any of the aforementioned hotels worldwide. Award points can also be converted into airline miles.
